THE JOHN'S STRIDE APPROACH
Understand the dog before you train the dog.
True training begins by respecting the dog as a dog. Instead of forcing human assumptions onto canine behavior, we understand how dogs actually perceive, communicate, and navigate their world. From this foundation, we build a clear structure and a shared language between you and your dog. Obedience, handling, and behavioral adjustments aren't just rules—they are the natural result of a deep, mutual understanding.
HOW A COURSE WORKS
Build the plan
The training plan is based on the individual dog's character, behavior, circumstances and the owner's goals.
Teach the owner
The owner handles the leash and works with the dog while the trainer explains, demonstrates and guides.
Practice at home
Each session becomes daily homework. The owner and dog practice until the next session.
Review & correct
The next session begins by checking progress and correcting anything that was misunderstood or applied improperly.
Progress naturally
Once the previous chapter is understood and practiced, the course moves to the next one.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
When communication becomes natural.
A successful course is not simply a list of commands the dog can perform. It is when the owner and dog genuinely communicate, the dog responds respectfully, and the owner's handling and correction timing become natural habits rather than delayed instructions.
When the owner can continue the work confidently without needing more lessons, the course has achieved its purpose.
